Michele Harris

Michele grew up primarily in Colorado. She graduated high school in 2007 and moved to Bozeman, Montana, where she was an Elementary Education major before ultimately switching to Community Health. She graduated with her Bachelor of Science from Montana State University in 2013. Michele has always been passionate about working with children and isn’t surprised that her path led her back to education. She has obtained her Idaho Exceptional Child Education (K-8) certificate and is working toward completing CSI’s NTEP Program.

Michele moved to Bellevue with her husband, Jack, a Wood River Valley native, and their oldest son, William, in 2018. They welcomed their second son, Luke, in 2019. Syringa Mountain School became Michele’s passion when her oldest son, William, started kindergarten. She spent that first year committed to being a very active parent volunteer and served on the Board of Directors before stepping down to join the school as a staff member. Michele comes from a long line of teachers and is very excited to start this next chapter as the Farm & Garden and Special Education Teacher at Syringa. She still plans to be an active parent volunteer as the Parent Council Liaison to the Board, and she looks forward to continuing to participate in fundraising and community-building efforts.

When Michele is not in the classroom, she is deeply connected to nature. You will find her reading, gardening, tending to her chickens and ducks, or enjoying outdoor activities like camping, hiking, biking, or skiing with her family.
